ZHU Chengliang (illustrator/author)

ZHU Chengliang is one of China’s best children’s book illustrators. Born in 1948, ZHU later graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Nanjing University, and has worked as an author, illustrator, editor, and designer. He is currently working as a deputy chief editor in Jiangsu Fine Arts Publishing House. His style is very playful and is also highly influenced by traditional Chinese culture.

His famous work Reunion(《团圆》) has been published in over 10 countries and won numerous prizes, including: The New York Times TOP 10 Children’s Books in 2011, and the 1st Feng Zikai Chinese Children's Picture Book Award. He was one of the winners of the 2017 Bologna Illustrators Exhibition. His picturebook Don’t Let the Sun Fall Down won the Golden Apple Award in Biennial of Illustration Bratislava (BIB) 2019.
