The Lake is Listening is designed to be flipped up and down. Around a small lake lived a group of tiny residents. One night, they eagerly shared their dreams of growing up. Quietly, the blue lake responded, reflecting their strange and colorful visions of the future. As little beings, we always hope to become something greater. Our thoughts may be odd or conflicting, but that’s okay — what matters is that our imagination and curiosity keep growing.

Yifan HU is a picture book artist and visual designer. He earned a MA in picture book design from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Breathe In, Breathe Out was awarded the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Graduate Creative Excellence Award; Best Picture Book at the 35th Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award; The Beauty of Books in China Award; and was selected for the dPICTUS World’s 100 Outstanding Picture Books 2023 & 2024.
